Isabel followed in her grandfather’s artistic shoes, and showed a keen interest in drawing and painting from an early age. She went to Bretton hall Teacher Training College to become an Art teacher, eventually teaching in Secondary modern schools until she started a family. Drawing and painting continued to be a serious hobby, but creative textile work, using a sewing machine, soon became a passion, and a way of earning a living.
Isabel Built up a successful business, exhibiting locally and also at venues such as the British Craft Show in London, Hatfield House Living Crafts, and other major venues. After a career in textiles spanning 25 years, she gave it up to concentrate on painting, which was less physically taxing.
